I’ve read a lot recently about url’s and how to use tools to shorten them, the idea being that shorted urls and easier to manage and by using an intermediary you can measure useful information such as who clicked your link and how often.  I am not 100% certain if this is a away for providers such as Google to collect more data for their own uses, but I am prepared to give it a trial at least.
